Master's in Clinical Bladder and Prostate Ultrasound (MCUB)

To provide urologists, radiologists, sonographers, and other medical professionals with expert-level knowledge and advanced practical skills in diagnostic and interventional ultrasound of the bladder and prostate. This master’s program aims to transform participants into highly proficient practitioners capable of performing detailed anatomical assessments, accurately diagnosing pathologies, guiding biopsies, and managing post-treatment evaluation with confidence.

Key Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Master the fundamental principles of genitourinary ultrasound physics, instrumentation, and image optimization.

  • Perform and interpret a comprehensive transabdominal bladder ultrasound, including accurate volume measurement and wall assessment.

  • Execute a systematic transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) of the prostate, utilizing both B-mode and advanced Doppler techniques.

  • Accurately measure prostate volume, identify anatomical zones, and recognize common benign variants.

  • Diagnose a wide range of bladder pathologies, including tumors, diverticula, calculi, and chronic outlet obstruction.

  • Stratify the risk of prostate cancer using standardized reporting systems (PI-RADS) and elastography findings.

  • Competently plan and perform ultrasound-guided procedures, including prostate biopsies (targeted and systematic) and bladder interventions.

  • Manage post-procedural assessment and follow-up for patients undergoing treatment for prostate cancer.
