Day 1

Lecture | Live Lab Demonstration – Endosuturing

In the Endosuturing lecture, students will learn the fundamental principles of intracorporeal and extracorporeal knot tying. They will understand needle handling techniques, ergonomics, and instrument coordination for precise suturing. The session covers port positioning, suture materials, and methods to improve depth perception in laparoscopy. Students will learn step-by-step techniques to close enterotomies, perforations, and tissue defects safely. Common errors, troubleshooting tips, and ways to improve speed without compromising safety will be discussed. By the end, participants will build confidence in performing secure, efficient laparoscopic suturing in real OT scenarios.

Day 2

Lecture | Live Lab Demonstration – Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy

This lecture provides a comprehensive approach to laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, covering indications, patient selection, and surgical techniques for cyst removal while preserving ovarian function. You will learn about trocar placement, cyst dissection methods, hemostasis strategies, and prevention of adhesions. Special focus will be given to managing complex cysts, endometriomas, and minimizing ovarian damage, ensuring optimal surgical outcomes.

Lecture | Live Lab Demonstration – Laparoscopic Tubal Ligation

This lecture covers the principles, techniques, and considerations for laparoscopic tubal ligation, a highly effective method of permanent contraception. You will learn about different surgical approaches, including Filshie clips, Falope rings, and bipolar coagulation, and their respective advantages and limitations. The session will emphasize safe and effective occlusion techniques, avoiding complications such as tubal damage or thermal spread. You will also explore reversal considerations, patient counseling, and failure rates of each method. By the end of this lecture, you will have a clear understanding of how to perform tubal ligation with precision, ensuring patient safety and long-term

effectiveness.

Lecture | Live Lab Demonstration – TLH (Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy)

In this lecture, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH) —a key procedure in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. The session will cover patient selection, surgical indications, step-by-step procedural techniques, and complication management. You will explore essential aspects such as uterine manipulation, colpotomy techniques, secure ligation of uterine vessels, and specimen retrieval methods. Special emphasis will be placed on energy sources for safe dissection, ergonomic instrument handling, and strategies to minimize complications such as ureteric injury and vaginal cuff dehiscence. By the end of the lecture, you will have a detailed surgical roadmap for performing TLH with precision and confidence.

Day 5

Lecture | Live Lab Demonstration – Laparoscopic Myomectomy

In a Laparoscopic Myomectomy lecture, students will develop a thorough understanding of uterine anatomy and fibroid classification, including size, number, and location assessment. The session will cover patient selection criteria, pre-operative evaluation, and imaging interpretation for surgical planning. Students will learn the step-by-step laparoscopic technique, including port placement, myoma enucleation, hemostasis strategies, suturing techniques for uterine repair, and specimen retrieval methods. Emphasis will be placed on minimizing blood loss, preserving uterine integrity for future fertility, and preventing adhesions. The lecture will also address intra-operative complication management and post-operative care for optimal recovery and reproductive outcomes.

Day 6

Live Surgery – WET LAB

Advanced Gynaecology Surgery Laparoscopy (Pig Model Only)

The session begins with OT gowning protocol, safety briefing, animal handling guidelines, and demonstration of pneumoperitoneum creation with strategic port placement tailored for gynaecologic procedures. Participants then undergo intensive, structured hands-on laparoscopic training under expert supervision, focusing exclusively on advanced laparoscopic gynaecology with strong emphasis on anatomical clarity, precision dissection, bleeding control, and fertility-preserving principles.

Procedures Performed:

  • Laparoscopic Diagnostic Pelvic Exploration – Systematic pelvic survey and anatomical mapping.
  • Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy – Cyst wall stripping, ovarian reconstruction, and hemostasis.
  • Laparoscopic Dermoid Cyst Removal – Spillage prevention and specimen retrieval techniques.
  • Laparoscopic Salpingectomy – Tubal dissection with vascular pedicle control.
  • Laparoscopic Management of Ectopic Pregnancy – Salpingostomy and salpingectomy techniques.
  • Laparoscopic Myomectomy (Single & Multiple Fibroids) – Myoma enucleation and multilayer uterine suturing.
  • Laparoscopic Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH) Simulation – Bladder dissection, uterine vessel sealing, and vault closure.
  • Laparoscopic Subtotal (Supracervical) Hysterectomy – Cervical stump management.
  • Laparoscopic Oophorectomy – Infundibulopelvic ligament control and specimen extraction.
  • Laparoscopic Adhesiolysis (Pelvic & Bowel Adhesions) – Safe sharp and blunt dissection techniques.
  • Laparoscopic Endometriosis Excision & Ablation – Deep infiltrating endometriosis identification and removal principles.
  • Laparoscopic Tubal Ligation & Tubal Reconstructive Techniques – Microsurgical precision and tissue preservation.
  • Laparoscopic Uterosacral Ligament Suspension (Simulation) – Pelvic support restoration principles.
  • Laparoscopic Ovarian Drilling (PCOS Model) – Controlled cortical puncture techniques.
  • Laparoscopic Management of Ovarian Torsion – Detorsion and ovarian conservation strategies.
  • Laparoscopic Pelvic Lymph Node Sampling (Demonstration) – Retroperitoneal space orientation basics.
  • Laparoscopic Vault Closure & Intracorporeal Knotting – Advanced suturing and ergonomic techniques.
  • Advanced Intracorporeal Suturing Practice – Continuous, interrupted, figure-of-eight, and barbed suturing methods.

 

The day concludes with a structured debriefing session covering complication management (bleeding, ureteric safety, bowel injury prevention), energy source safety, troubleshooting difficult pelvis scenarios, and conversion criteria. Participants receive individualized expert feedback focusing on surgical ergonomics, instrument handling, speed optimization, precision suturing, and operative confidence in advanced laparoscopic gynaecology.

Afternoon Session

Skill Assessment Test

The Skill Assessment Test evaluates camera navigation, depth perception, port placement strategy, tissue handling, cyst suturing, uterine defect closure, bleeding control drills, and intra-operative decision-making in simulated gynaecologic scenarios. Assessment is based on precision, safety adherence, operative flow, and technical competence.

Day 7

Morning Session – 10:30 AM onwards Hands-on Training in the Dry Lab

Skill Assessment Result

Your Skill Assessment Result reflects your proficiency in laparoscopic techniques, instrument handling, suturing, and complication management. It highlights your strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring you are prepared for real-world surgical challenges. Upon successful completion, you will receive certification, validating your expertise in advanced minimally invasive surgery.

Convocation Ceremony

The Convocation Ceremony marks a proud milestone for our Gynaecologists who have successfully completed their advanced laparoscopic training in Minimal Access Gynaecology. In recognition of their dedication, surgical precision, and clinical excellence, participants will be formally awarded the prestigious MMAS (master’s in Minimal Access Surgery) certifications.

The ceremony celebrates their commitment to advancing women’s health through innovation, skill, and patient-centered care, honoring their evolution into proficient minimal access gynaecologic surgeons. It recognizes not only their technical mastery but also their dedication to safe, fertility-preserving, and evidence-based surgical practice.

The event will be followed by a High Tea and Social Meet-Up, providing an opportunity for networking, faculty interaction, exchange of clinical experiences, and fostering long-term professional collaborations in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.
