Covers the definition, significance, and key milestones in laparoscopic surgery. Explores technological advancements including HD cameras and 3D imaging, indications, patient selection, and safety protocols for minimally invasive procedures.

Laparoscopic Instruments — Handling with Correct & Alternate Usage
Expert-level knowledge and hands-on proficiency in all essential laparoscopic instruments — Graspers, Scissors, Dissectors, Trocars, and Laparoscopic Cameras (0°, 30°, 45°). Emphasis on ergonomic design principles, controlled force application, and optimal instrument-tissue alignment. Sterilization methods: Autoclaving, ETO, Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma, and Chemical Disinfection.
Hands-On Training
Paper Cutting Drill
Develops hand-eye coordination, depth perception, steadiness, and muscle memory before operating on patients. Strengthens left-hand control — essential for traction, counter-traction, tissue exposure, and needle handling.

Laparoscopic Suturing & Knotting Fundamentals
Comprehensive demonstration of laparoscopic suturing techniques and knot security principles. Hands-on practice of extracorporeal knots (Roeder's, Meltzer's), intracorporeal knotting over fallopian tube, and advanced applications for myomectomy, Burch colposuspension, vault closure, and rectal prolapse fixation. Safe abdominal entry techniques including Hasson's open, Veress needle, and Visiport technology.

Pelvic Anatomy for Gynae Laparoscopic Surgeries
Working surgeon's knowledge of pelvic anatomy — where the uterus, ovaries, bladder, and rectum sit, how they change with pathology, danger zones (ureter, aorta, IVC), hidden spaces (pouch of Douglas, pararectal, paravesical), why port placement is anatomy-driven, and how it all applies to TLH, myomectomy, and endometriosis excision.

Cobra Rope Drill & TopGun Drill
Bimanual dissection training to develop ambidexterity and depth perception. Extracorporeal knotting (myomectomy, supracervical hysterectomy), equipment & tech (quadromanometric insufflation), OT ergonomics, and energy devices (bipolar, monopolar, LigaSure, Harmonic Scalpel).

Laparoscopic Port Positioning & Port Entry Principles
Modern laparoscope configurations (3mm–10mm, 0°–45°), camera technology, xenon light for endometriosis excision. Veress needle, Hasson's open access, Scandinavian method, Visiport and optical needle. Recognizing and managing access complications — vascular injury, bowel perforation, preperitoneal insufflation, and omental entrapment.

Monopolar electrosurgery for rapid cutting in myomectomy and hysterectomy. Bipolar energy for precise hemostasis in tubal surgery and endometriosis. Harmonic Scalpel with minimal thermal spread in deep endometriosis. LigaSure for larger vessel sealing in TLH. Thunderbeat combining ultrasonic and bipolar energy. Precision intracorporeal knotting with hands-on tissue-based training. Laparoscopic Intracorporeal Surgeon's Knot applied to core gynecologic cases — Tuboplasty for tubal reconstruction, Vault Closure following TLH, and Bladder Injury Repair. Each case demands different appreciation of tissue tension, needle angulation, and knot security, mastered through repetitive supervised practice on real tissue.

Laparoscopic Suturing and Tubal Surgery
Hands-on training in intracorporeal continuous suturing with Dundee Jamming Knot and Aberdeen termination. Focused on TLH, uterine repair, bladder injury repair, and myomectomy closure. Also covers laparoscopic tubal surgery through case-based learning in ectopic pregnancy, salpingostomy, salpingo-oophorectomy, and two-port tubal cyst resection.

How to Create a Pneumoperitoneum
Three access techniques — Veress needle, open Hasson, and direct trocar insertion. CO₂ insufflation principles, optimal pressure settings (8-12 mmHg), and flow rates. Complications recognition — vascular injury, bowel perforation, subcutaneous emphysema. Hands-on trocar placement, port positioning, and troubleshooting. Real-world scenarios: obese patients, previous abdominal surgery, and emergency cases.

Complete clinical and surgical framework — from indications and patient selection (endometriomas, dermoids, simple and complex cysts, borderline tumours, fertility-preserving cases) to step-by-step operative technique. Real patient cases across varying scenarios discussed. Complication recognition including inadvertent spillage, bleeding from the ovarian hilum, and bowel or ureteric injury.

Hysteroscopy Training with Case Studies
Hands-on hysteroscopy lab on advanced uterine simulators — polypectomy, hysteroscopic myomectomy (Type 0, 1, 2), TCRE, metroplasty, and synechiae lysis. Structured around realistic case studies: abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, recurrent miscarriage, and Asherman's syndrome.

OT gowning, safety briefing, pneumoperitoneum creation and port placement. Participants perform foundational gynaecological laparoscopic procedures under expert supervision:
- Laparoscopic Diagnostic Pelvic Exploration — systematic pelvic survey & anatomical mapping
- Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy — cyst wall stripping, ovarian reconstruction & hemostasis
- Laparoscopic Salpingectomy — tubal dissection with vascular pedicle control
- Laparoscopic Oophorectomy — infundibulopelvic ligament control & specimen extraction

Specialised skills for Radical Hysterectomy (uterine tunnelling, parametrial dissection, pelvic lymphadenectomy for cervical cancer) and TVT/TOT procedures (precise placement and tensioning of mid-urethral slings). Focus on critical anatomical landmarks and complication prevention.

Ipsilateral Knotting & Laparoscopic Pelvic Floor Surgery
Hands-on ipsilateral knotting (extra and intracorporeal) on tissue models — uterine closure post-myomectomy, colpotomy, adnexal repair, and hemostatic suturing. Followed by lecture and video demonstration on laparoscopic Burch suspension, hysteropexy, pectopexy, and sacrocolpopexy.

Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH)
Complete clinical and surgical framework — indications, patient selection (fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, pre-cancerous conditions), step-by-step operative technique. Real patient cases across scenarios: large fibroid uteri, previous caesarean sections with adhesions, frozen pelvis from severe endometriosis. Complication recognition and handling: ureteric and bladder injury, vascular injury, vault haematoma, bowel injury, and emergency conversion.

Master the extracorporeal Western knot through step-by-step demonstration and hands-on tissue practice — essential for secure pedicle ligation, vault suspension, and myomectomy closure. Practical training on the morcellator machine: safe tissue fragmentation, contained bag extraction of large fibroids or uteri, and critical complication prevention.

Laparoscopic Myomectomy
Uterine anatomy and fibroid classification. Patient selection, pre-operative evaluation and imaging interpretation. Port placement, myoma enucleation, hemostasis, suturing for uterine repair and specimen retrieval. Minimising blood loss and preserving fertility.
