What is laparoscopic training?

Laparoscopic training teaches doctors to operate through small keyhole incisions using a camera and long instruments. A good programme moves in stages: theory first, then suturing and knot-tying in a dry lab, then tissue handling in a wet lab, then assisting and operating in a live OT under supervision. Each stage builds the hand-eye coordination and depth perception that open surgery does not train.

Why train in hands-on laparoscopy rather than online only?

Laparoscopic skill is motor skill. Videos teach the steps, but only repeated practice builds the camera control, two-handed coordination and suturing speed that safe surgery needs. That is why The Medicity keeps OT sessions small, at up to 6 doctors, so every trainee gets time at the instruments.

Training for doctors from outside India
